Portrait of Justin Hyatt

Hello. I'm Justin Hyatt.

<-------- X -------->

Learning Strategist + Systems Builder.

I design learning and organizational systems that actually make sense to the people using them.

How I Think

  • Simplicity > Complexity. If something is hard to use, it isn't finished.
  • Programs, courses, and systems are for the people that use them. Design in ways that put people first.
  • The way people learn changes; so should the way we teach.
  • Build for adaptability, not longevity.

What I Do

  • I take complicated information and make it accessible.
  • I design learning opportunities, systems, workflows, and tools that create opportunity instead of additional friction.
  • I fix broken processes that waste time, money, and energy.
  • I build things that work... in a way that makes sense to the people that use them.

My background spans ~10 different fields -- from labor to finance, education to real estate, and plenty of stops in between -- and has given me a unique perspective on how systems work (and unfortunately, how they often don't). I've seen firsthand how poorly designed systems can create frustration, inefficiency, and missed opportunities. And where I saw that most clearly was in educational models.

After volunteering as a GED instructor during my NYC finance years, I made the leap into education full-time, and I've been changing the adult learning landscape ever since.

I'm currently designing learning ecosystems that will not only withstand the test of time, but allow learners to meet the future confidently -- through the development of modern curricula in the age of AI, the creation of organizational systems that help institutions adapt to rapid change, and the implementation of tools that make learning more accessible for all, among other things.
